This classic square body was pulled from a field and brought back to life. It is an old Grandpa rig for sure with its Grammy step on the passenger side and the cut shoulder belts haha. When I got ahold of it the original 454 was very tired so I pulled it and had a full rebuild done on it. The engine work was done by ATS - Auto Truck Service in Everett, Washington. A full rebuild with a bore and head shaving to bump up the compression. The TH400 was also pulled and gone through. The transmission work was done by Snohomish Transmission in Monroe, Washington. It was in great shape so a cleanup and maintainence was done along with a new torque converter. The radiator was rebuilt by Stans Radiator Repair in Lake Stevens, Washington. It was stripped down and re-cored, boiled and assembled.

I have done a bunch of other little things to make her a strong and reliable towing monster. I use the “tugboat” to haul around my old Caddys and Buicks and she drives like nothing is back there. I also used it for a big crew cab sized camper. The overhang was alot but she drove great.

If you do not know about the Chevy “Camper Special” its a very special package designed to make towing a trailer or hauling a camper easy. It is not a “1 ton” pickup, it is actually a “1 1/2 ton” as the bed is good for 3,000 pounds because of the massive leaf pack out back. With its 10.5" 14 bolt axle, it is ready to tow anything.
